Well Christmas has come and gone.  It didn't feel much like Christmas leading up to Christmas even with all the snow we got but it came none the less and gradually started feeling a little more Christmas like by the end.

This year I got a cute penguin ornament, some ginger kitchen spray (inside joke), a gift card to East Side Mario's, an angel candle holder, a cookbook for slow cookers (did you know you can make cake in a slow cooker?), 3 pairs of pyjamas, a fuzzy robe, a knitting carryall filled with about 6 different sized straight needles, a shawl and hot chocolate (for a cozy night in), Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue, The Fib from Outerspace, The Rumour Weed, Happily Ever After, Lyle the Kindly Viking, a Michael's gift card, a Canadian Tire gift card, 2 Tim cards, Olive Pesto (very good), lots of chocolate, flannel sheets and quite a bit of money.  With my money I got myself a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, Sleeping Beauty on BluRay, A Cinderella Story, Curious George (the movie) and Corsari (a fun pirate game).

So quite a haul this year, lots of movies to enjoy.

Oh I should mention my Boxing Day adventure.  Nathan and I got up and headed out to Best Buy fairly early in the morning, it opened at 6am and we got there about 10 minutes before that.  We parked at the mall across the street 'cause parking in the Best Buy parking lot is pretty impossible.  Anyway so we stood in line for less than 10 minutes got in there it was pretty packed.  Nathan found what he went in for and we took a look at the movies and games, I found A Cinderella Story for $6 so I got it.  We got all we wanted and went in search of the dude with the balloons 'cause he was the back of the paying line.  It was quite a long line, probably a good hour wait in the line would have been what to expect but right where we were waiting there was a dude at a little aisle register and so Nathan asked if he could ring us through and he said yes, so we didn't have to wait in that long line afterall.  We got back to the car about 6:20am!!!  Wow, 30 minutes for the whole ordeal, it was awesome, especially because no doubt people got to the store super duper early in order to be first in line and we got there 10 minutes before opening and got out 20 mins after opening.  Nathan said he should have had a video crew following him to show people how Boxing Day shopping should and could be done.  Then we went to FutureShop and picked up a couple of things there, that took a wee bit longer 'cause Nathan was paying with gift cards and apparently that takes a long time.  But we were home before 8am.  Took some time to put things away then went out to Breakfast with Mom, Dad and Nana, that was nice.

Anyway that my story for now.  Have a good rest of vacation, if you're like me, it's not overlong so enjoy what you have left and if you're like Nathan then enjoy your long time off. :)

Exciting News

Nathan and I have started the process of buying a house. We have our mortgage pre-approval, we've talked with Eastforest Homes (the builders) and have reserved the lot we want (we were the first to pick our lot so we got the one we wanted :)), we've done our pre-offer (choosing our 'extras') and tonight we're going to do the final offer!! Then we send it to the lawyer and the bank and then the house is ours (once it's built). If you're curious as to what it looks like you can check it out on the builders site I think eastforesthomes.com, just google Eastforest Homes you'll find it, the model is the Alder.

It's been a pretty busy fall for me.

We've been trying to raise money for a well to be built in Africa.  On Oct 17th we hosted a talent show and there was a super amazing turn out.  God blessed that evening and I'm so thankful.  About 80 people showed up and we raised $1825.  Also the acts were amazing, it was so much fun.  I'm looking forward to next year's Mad Skillz.

We turned the clocks back this past weekend and my body still hasn't adjusted.  I feel super tired around 9 and wake up about 30 minutes before my alarm.

I currently have 5 books on the go.  One of those 5 is the Bible which is constantly on the go so maybe I shouldn't count that.  Alright so 4.  One is about how people interpret and using logic to counter some of the more erroneous yet well followed lines of thought.  It's a pretty good book.  Another is about FAM, you can look that one up if you really want to know what it stands for, I'm not gonna say, right yet.  The 3rd is Emma by Jane Austen and the forth is Knitting for Dummies, yes I know how to knit but I wanted to get a little more technical understanding.  Wait, now that I think of it I also have Keeping your Balance for ladies' class and Nathan and I are reading The Mystery of Marriage together so that's 6 books, plus the ever ongoing Bible reading.  Lots of fun.

Last night Bianca hosted a dinner for the girls of the UCC, it was super fun.  We talked and laughed and had a short lesson on service and then made up cookie baskets and cards for some of the folks on our prayer list.  It was a very encouraging evening, thanks Bianca!!

Tonight is Bible study, tomorrow is Aurora's birthday party and Friday I'm going to St Jacobs with some ladies for some shopping.  Fun filled week for me :)

God bless!

I borrowed a camara and was able to get a picture of one of my sweater sets, I didn't get the other one 'cause it's technically not finished yet, I need to add the embellishments still, so here is the one I did take.
